Helen is a Scunthorpe girl with an extensive background in administrative management, accounts, and HR.
After leaving sixth form, she worked as an office clerk within the gas industry before joining Clugston Construction firstly as a cost surveyor and later in the HR department. When she became HR manager, she was responsible for the company’s personnel and training function. She also managed Clugston’s large monthly staff payroll. While at Clugston, Helen studied for her degree in Administrative Management, graduating in 1998 with a 2:1 Honours degree.
After an enjoyable career there, Helen took the opportunity to serve her local church taking on the role of implementation and resources manager. This diverse role utilised many of Helen’s skills and enabled her to develop her leadership and personal skills. Her appetite for exciting new challenges was also met.
In January 2019, Helen was ready for another challenge. She set up Priority Business Services Ltd to help businesses and charities reach their potential. These include accounting and bookkeeping, charity governance, employment law, monthly payroll, bid and policy writing and any other administrative task that distracts you from working in your organisation.
When Helen is not at her desk, her favourite things are crocheting, listening to podcasts, reading books, and working out in the gym. She is an avid Liverpool supporter and loves to watch international cricket, cheering on England of course.
